Hip to be Square - SC447

The Splitcoast Stampers sketch this week is a beauty, of course I did the square version. I pulled out my Inktense pencils, which I haven't used in a while, and watercolored this pretty Papertrey Dahlia and leaves and cut them out with the matching dies, there's a touch of Stickles glitter in the flower center, it looked so great that I almost smeared glitter over the whole flower, but decided to use a little discretion! I'm feeling in the height of my summer mood and added lots of brightly colored dp for the background with two twine bows beneath a seam binding ribbon bow.

Friends of Speedy TV challenge - CAS

The Friends of Speedy TV challenge this week is to make a CAS Card, join us here for a chance to win a stamp set.
I have to admit that I find CAS cards impossible, all I can do is try and keep it as uncluttered as possible and hope that everyone is sympathetic to my plight!

For this one I decided to use the beautiful lily of the valley image and make a wedding card. I added texture to the Copic marker colored flowers and a Spellbinders oval frame, pearls, and textured corner dies in pale green to add some detail.

Blessings!

Friends of Speedy TV challenge - Summer Fun

The Friends of Speedy TV challenge this week is to make a summer fun card, join us here for a chance to win a stamp set: http://www.mfpspeedytv.ning.com/.
There's an ocean town nearby that caters to tourists and a new little shop opened filled with wooden seabirds, shells and knicknacks in pale blue and cream, everything you would want for your own seaside cabin. Although I don't have my own beach house, I love the relaxing colors and vibe this shop gives off, so shabby chic!! That's what I wanted to bring to my card, the pastel blue of summer, shells from the beach and a touch of lace!!
The shells are heat embossed and lightly watercolored with reinkers and waterpen, then layered on designer papers embossed with embossing folders.
Stamps: Mark's Finest Papers - Silly Shells
Accessories: heat embossing, reinkers, waterpen, embossing folders, Magnolia lace border die, Spellbinder lace rectangle die, seam binding ribbon, twine, Stampin Up clear button, foam tape

Friends of Speedy TV challenge - Monochromatic

The Friends of Speedy TV challenge this week is to make a monochromatic card, join us here for a chance to win a stamp set: http://www.mfpspeedytv.ning.com/.
As I was thinking of options for my monochromatic card, I pulled out my pansies and my Mark's Finest Papers 'Be Wild & Free' set. Of course, pansies being purple, I immediately began pulling out all the purple stops: heat embossing and watercoloring the pansies with reinkers (glitter glue for the centers) then cutting them out and popping them up with foam tape. After finishing my purple creation, I noticed a pretty brown bow that came on a gift I'd received recently and I had beautiful pieces of text designer paper on my desk from a previous project. As I pulled together elements in kraft and chocolate, I realized I had to do a second monochromatic project and put the 'Be Wild and Free' set to good use. This zebra image is awesome, no masking was needed, I just kept stamping until I had a herd!!

I added the chocolate bow with a twine bow and rustic brown button on top, over a stamped zebra print border that's from the same set.
Pansy Card details:
Stamps: Mark's Finest Papers - Spring Flowers
Accessories: Cheery Lynn doily die, heat embossing, embossing folders, reinkers, waterpen, foam tape, seam binding ribbon, lavendar twine, jewel stickers, purple button.
Zebra Card details:
Stamps: Mark's Finest Papers - Be Wild & Free
Accessories: embossing folders, bow, twine, button, pearl stickers, My Favorite Things scalloped border die

Friends of Speedy TV challenge - 4th of July Card

The Friends of Speedy TV challenge this week is to make a 4th of July card, join us here for a chance to win a stamp set: http://www.mfpspeedytv.ning.com/.
Now, when I heard that I was to make a 4th of July card, I embraced the challenge because I don't have any actual 4th of July sets. I do have the Mark's Finest Papers 'Buffalo Spring' stamp set, which has a wonderful 'Freedom' sentiment. I inked up a striped embossing folder with Cherry Cobbler and then ran it through the Big Shot, giving it a vintage look. I found a bit of sandable navy paper and embossed with a starry EF, then sanded to bring out the white. The star is a Sizzix Bigz die and I added a Stampin Up button and twine bow.
Stamps: Mark's Finest Papers - Buffalo Spring
Accessories: Embossing folders, Sizzix star die, Stampin Up button, twine, foam tape, Spellbinder label dies, scallop border die
Have a great week!!
