ODBDSLC #176 - No Ribbons or Lace

Happy Tuesday everyone!! The Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge is to create a card with no ribbons or lace, please join us here for all of the details.

For this week's challenge I decided to make a masculine card. The moose was heat embossed and watercolored with distress markers then layered on many Splellbinder dies. My original sketch reflected the pine bows wrapping around the right side, but in the end I thought this would be too heavy, so I pulled out this wonderful flourish from the Custom Fancy Foliage die set which gives it a lighter look. I love this wonderful proverb, perfect for my husband or my Father.

Our Daily Bread Supplies: Fathers Day stamp set, Custom Fancy Foliage die set.

Other Supplies: Spellbinder dies, embossing folders, foam tape, distress markers, water pen.

I know this looks more like a fall card than a Halloween card but this is the closed I have to a jack-o-lantern! I heat embossed this sweet pumpkin and watercolored with reinkers then raised on foam tape on Spellbinder dies. I added a little sheer knot with a couple acorns from the same set.

Mark's Finest Papers: Autumn Splender stamp set.

Other supplies: embossing folders, foam tape, Spellbinder dies, small scallop border die, heat embossing, reinkers, waterpen.

ODBDSLC #175 - Fall

Happy Tuesday everyone!! The Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge is to create a fall card, please join us here for all of the details.

I wanted to make something today that wasn't my traditional fall orange, so I went to my designer paper scrap box, it's full of great ideas. I found this muted yellow dp and pulled out the Stampin Up Summer Starfruit cs for the base. I have to admit that I've been a little bit obsessed with reverse embossing lately, and for today's card I inked up my embossing folder with white pigment ink and embossed black card stock to make a strip across the middle, keeping my leaf bouquet small to show it off. I'm loving this sweet ODBD squirrel image and watercolored him in warm rust after heat embossing and framing him and the sentiment with Spellbinder dies. Under the seam binding bow I used a couple of the leaves from the ODBD Custom Fall Leaves and Acorn set and also a small leaf from the SB mini leaves set.

Our Daily Bread Designs supplies: Thankful Song stamp set, Custom Fall Leaves and Acorn die set.

Other Supplies: Spellbinder dies, seam binding ribbon, button, twine, heat embossing, reinkers, waterpen, foam tape.

Friends of Speedy TV challenge #95 - Fall

The Friends of Speedy TV challenge this week is to make a Fall card, join us here for a chance to win a stamp set and all of the details.

I decided to add a cowboy to my fall card this week and gave him an orangy sunset to ride into. The leaves were heat embossed and colored with reiners, I added a little foam tape to pop one up and a twine bow. On the left is a reverse embossed piece, I inked up the embossing folder with SU Chocolate Chip ink and embossed on SU Close to Cocoa paper to get a leather look. Across the top is a wrought iron piece made with a Sizzix die.

Mark's Finest Papsers stamps: Hey Cowboy, A Trip to Lancaster (fence and tree), Oh Happy Day (Leaf).

Other Supplies: embossing folders, Sizzix die, twine, foam tape, small scallop die, embossing folders, reinkers, water pen.

ODBDSLC #174 - Create Your Own Background

Happy Tuesday everyone!! The Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge is to create your own background on your project, please join us here for all of the details.

I love it when I find images that have extra goodies that can be taken out and expanded, that's the way this beautiful ODBD church is. It has two perfect little trees that I used to expand my horizon! First off, I watercolored the bg with reinkers, waterpen and watercolor paper. I stamped the image several times to get layering for my project along with the extra trees I would need. All are heat embossed with a sparkly black that gives the card a little extra shimmer and were watercolored with reinkers and layered with foam tape accross the Spellbinder label. I added a little extra Christmas cheer with sprigs from the ODBD Custom Fancy Foliage die set, a couple tiny SB holly dies and a seam binding bow with button tied with twine bow. I know it's a little early, but it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!!

Our Daily Bread Supplies: Worship the Lord stamp set, Custom Fancy Foliage die

Other Supplies: Spellbinder dies, button, seam binding ribbon, embossing folder, Spellbinder holly die, heat embossing, reinkers, waterpen.

A couple of weeks ago I saw a fun technique that I hadn't seen in a while called Faux White Wash, take a look here for the details. The Friends of Speedy TV challenge this week is to make an Anniversary Card, join us here for a chance to win a stamp set.

I've been so excited to use these gorgeous new blooms from Mark's Finest Papers and today is my chance!! I had to pull out my newest favorite colors to go with them, cantelope and steel blue. I sanded the background and reverse embossed the grey banner by inking the embossing folder then adding metalic rub-ons to the highlights. The flowers are heat embossed and watercolored with reinkers.

Mark's Finest Papers images: Love Love, Huge Blooms

Other Supplies: embossing folders, oval dies, banner die, half pearl, reinkers, heat embossing, foam tape.
