ODBDSLC192 - Shaped Card

Happy Tuesday everyone!! The Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge is to make a shaped card, join us here for more details.
My thoughts are turning to spring, and this sweet little ODBD lamb fit perfectly with my mood, along with the soft pastel colors and of course, seam binding ribbon!!  I raised the oval panel and the lamb with foam tape to give depth after coloring with copic markers.

Friends of Speedy TV challenge #113 - Tissue

The Friends of Speedy TV challenge this week is to make a card with tissue on it, join us here for a chance to win a stamp set and for all of the details on the latest challenge.

I thought it would be fun to stamp this gorgeous Mark's Finest Papers butterfly stamp on tissue, this was my first try and I liked it so much that I went with it.  I kept a few wrinkles in the tissue for a bit of character.  I cut a circle with a Spellbinder die in the top layer of designer paper and a smaller circle in the next layer of dark grey color cardstock and raised these with foam tap over the butterflies on tissue, this gives some extra depth to the card.  The flower and flourish are also Spellbinder dies, and I used a small sun punch for the flower center with a brad to hold it all together.

Other Supplies: Spellbinder dies, jewel stickers, sun punch, brad, foam tape, tissue paper

ODBDSLC #191 - Secret Admirer

For the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge this week, we're making a Secret Admirer card - Case someone you admire or a card you always wanted to case, for more details on the challenge, check out the Our Daily Bread Designs blog.

For my Secret Admirer card, I chose to case Chris Olsen who makes so many gorgeous creations. I was struck by this one while visiting Splitcoaststampers.com recently. I really love the bright colors in this card and the wonderful depth of these pretty ODBD flowers. You can see I changed the color, but I kept the gorgeous ribbon and bow and changed up the flowers. I really wanted to keep the great depth that Chris's card has, so I cut out the Ornate Heart die in the center and raised it with foam tape over the scripture. I've had some trying times at work the last couple weeks and I can't tell you enough, how much this verse means to me! I love making cards that inspire me as well as the person I'm sending it to!

for more details on her card, check it out here.

I love the tranquil quality of the Marsh Birds stamp set and especially love the Heron. I colored him up with Copic markers and raised him with foam tape over a background of reeds which were cut out with a Spellbinder nestie. I embossed the bg dp and added a satin ribbon and bow.

ODBDSLC #189 - L-O-V-E Recipe Challenge

Happy Tuesday everyone!! The Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge is a recipe challenge with the word LOVE, join us here for all of the details!

For the love challenge I chose:

L - Lace
O - Opals
V - Valentine
E - Embossing

I thought I'd take a few minutes away from celebrating the Seahawks winning the Superbowl to play with one the wonderful Our Daily Bread Designs hearts that is in the new release. I'm so delighted with these new dies from the Custom Beautiful Borders set and the Bless Your Heart dies are beyond beautful too, with piercing around the edge and intricate detail. I embossed and distressed the background pieces and added seam binding ribbon, button, and twine on a Spellbinder tag with one of the greetings from the new Bless Your Heart stamp set.
