Friends of Speedy TV challenge #144 - Movement Card

The Friends of Speedy TV challenge this week is make a movement card.  Join us here for a chance to win a stamp set and for all of the details on the latest challenge.

I fell back on an old standby that I learned to make in first grade for my motion card.  I folded two strips of paper to make a spring for my hummingbird, so that he will pop out when he comes out of the envelope and look like he's hovering near the pretty new chrysanthemum from Mark's Finest Papers.  The images were heat embossed and water colored with re inkers and a gingham ribbon and knot added along the bottom.

ODBDSLC216 - Scripture Inspiration

The Shining the Light challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs this week is a scripture inspiration challenge.  Join us here for all of the details.

Our scripture verse inspiration is Ecclesiastes 3:1

For every thing there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven.

Obviously, I chose Christmas as my season, but I also used this wonderful verse from Isaiah for the front of my card which goes with verse 2 of Ecc. 3 which says, 'A time to be born, a time to die', and nothing illustrates that more beautifully than the birth of Jesus, who was born to die for our salvation! Wow, the precious gift of Jesus, who came as a sacrifice so that we can have eternal life!!

I chose the lovely new image by Our Daily Bread Designs, Mother and Child Ornament layered on the ODBD doily die,  and added the new poinsettia dies, and beautiful paper from the ODBD Blushing Rose Collection.  The wonderful verse is from the ODBD Joy to the World stamp set.

ODBDSLC215 - Anything Goes Part 2

The Shining the Light challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs this week is part 2 Anything Goes.  Join us here for all of the details.

For the Anything Goes challenge this week I was living the vida loca, ya, you guessed it, glitter!! I had glitter everywhere, my face, clothes, I think I even drank some in my coffee!  The result was well worth it though because my poinsettias are covered in frosty goodness and ready for Christmas!  I started out by embossing the background with a Merry Christmas folder and heat embossing the wonderful new ODBD Wisemen Ornament in black and water coloring it with soft blue re inker and a water pen, the ODBD Doily die is the perfect frame.  Next I made a bunch of poinsettias with the new ODBD Peaceful Poinsettia dies and sponged them with soft blue ink while they were still in the die, next came the glitter explosion and I layered it all on the flourish and branches from the ODBD Fancy Foliage set and extra poinsettia leaves made from the flower die.  I hadn't got enough of the glitter yet, so I put a few large pieces on the branches.

ODBD Stamps Used: Wisemen Ornament

Other Supplies: Foam tape, glitter, embossing folder, heat embossing, re inkers, water pen.
