Flowers on Flowers

The Splitcoaststampers Free for All challenge is to create a flowery background.

These are yesterday's sunflower fails.  I originally planned on using espresso prills for the centers, but realized that I only had gold, thinking I could create espresso by adding drops of re-inker, I didn't realize that the ink would bleed onto the flower petals.  Today, once my messy experiment had dried, I added espresso stemens made with the Heartfelt Creations Flowering Dogwood stemen die and they're looking much better.  Yesterday's sunflowers were stamped in espresso on yellow paper and these were stamped in rust on white paper and then sponged.  The yellow background was stamped with the  same image that the dimensional sunflowers were cut out from, so it does double duty.  I was attempting a masculine card by adding plaid paper and a twine bow.

Sunflower Get Well

The Splitcoaststampers Ways to Use it Challenge is to make a Get Well card.

I had a bit of a false start when I realized I didn't have any dark brown prills for the sunflower centers, but ended up using the stemens from the HFC Dogwood set for the centers.  The Heartfelt Creations Sunflowers were stamped on yellow cardstock with dark brown ink and then sponged in yellow and tangy orange, lots of glitter to finish it off.

Raspberry Hibiscus

Here's my contribution to the Splitcoaststampers color challenge.

For this card I combined the Heartfelt Creations dimensional Tropical Hibiscus with the Hibiscus Bouquet stamp.  The background papers were dry embossed and the image was heat embossed and water colored with Stampin Up markers.  Glitter glue was added to the image and dimensional flowers and yellow prills were glued to the centers and steimens of the dimensional hibiscus.

Seaside

For this week's Featured Stamper challenge at Splitcoaststampers, I chose this for my inspiration.

I love the Heartfelt Creations Under the Sea Collection and it worked perfectly for casing Linda's awesome card.  I heat embossed all of the images, except for the branches that were left over from another project.  The images were water colored with Stampin Up markers and the paper is from the Under the Sea paper collection, the sentiment from the new Monkeying Around collection.

Palm Tree Birthday

For the Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge today, I chose this for my inspiration.

I've been waiting impatiently for my new Heartfelt Creations release to arrive, and immediately pulled it out and heat embossed all of the the images.  My husband's birthday is coming up and he is always dreaming of a trip to Hawaii, so I thought this would be perfect.  It's also a great opportunity to put flowers on a guy card.  For this card, I combined stamps and paper from the Monkeying Around Collection with the Hibiscus from the Under the Sea Collection.
