Friends of Speedy TV challenge #92 - Favorite Color
The Friends of Speedy TV challenge this week is to make a card using your favorite color, join us here for a chance to win a stamp set.
I had to pull out my favorite pansies to go with my favorite color, obviously purple! I wanted to go with a layout that was a little different than usual so I heat embossed 3 of the trios of pansies from the Spring Flowers stamp set and one single pansy and watercolored them in yellow and purple with reinkers, then layered them vertically down the card, as well as adding a vertical ribbon. The sentiment is from the Bring on the Sun set and is layered on Spellbinder dies.
Mark's Finest Paper stamps used: Spring Flowers stamp set, Bring on the Sun stamp set.
Other Supplies: embossing folder, seam binding ribbon, heat embossing, reiners, water pen, spellbinders label die, foam tape.
Blessings!

ODBDSLC #172 - Anything Goes!
Happy Tuesday everyone!! The Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge is Anything Goes, please join us here for all of the details.
My choice for the anything goes challenge was based on my excitement to use this gorgeous bird by Our Daily Bread Designs, truthfully, I had intended to make him a blue jay, but then I bought this beautiful Christmas dp and he turned into a cardinal, I'm not sure why there can't be a Christmas bluejay, but it just doesn't seem right!
I started out by making a frame for the bird with the small pine cone from the Sing For Joy set, all the images were heat embossed and watercolored with reinkers. In the top corner I've added the lovely ODBD Custom Decorative Corners die and in the bottom corner I added some sprigs from the ODBD Fancy Foliage set, Spellbinder ivy, small circle punch for berries, a seam binding ribbon bow, and a chocolate button tied with striped twine.
Our Daily Bread Supplies: Sing For Joy stamp set, Custom Decorative Corners dies, Custom Fancy Foliage.
Other Supplies: Spellbinder Little Leaf Sets, embossing folder, foam tape, heat embossing, reinkers, waterpen, seam binding ribbon, twine, button, small hole punch.

Friends of Speedy TV challenge #91 - Animal Card
It's Animal week here at the Friends of Speedy TV challenge, kind of like shark week but without the blood and a lot cuter!! Join us here for a chance to win a stamp set.
I've been wanting to make a western card and this beautiful MFP wild horse scene from the Wild Horses Stamp set is a favorite, I heat embossed and watercolored the image with distress markers and a water pen. I had rescued this large piece of corregated cardboard from the wrapping off a package my husband had received, it worked perfectly with the rustic feel that I wanted. A button was added to the twine bow with a couple Spellbinder leaf dies and a happy birthday sentiment (also from the Wild Horses set) on a tag die and three small chocoate buttons along the top of the card.
Mark's Finest Paper stamps used: Wild Horses Stamp set
Other Supplies: Corregated cardboard, twine, Spellbinder leaf die, tag die, Tim Holtz distress markers, scalloped border punch, embossing folder, water pen, brown buttons.

ODBDSLC171 - Fall Colors
Happy Tuesday everyone!! The Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge is to make a project with fall colors, please join us here for all of the details.
My husband just walked in carrying bags of steak, he proudly displayed the two roasts he had bought and I got excited that it's almost time to cook inside again, I've missed the smell of slow roasted food in the oven!! I have to say that I love fall! The beautiful trees, crisp air, the excitement of pulling out my leather jacket and boots, football, and coming home from church on Sunday to the smell of roast filling the house!!
For my fall colors card, I chose to watercolor this wonderful ODBD Pumpkin, the die catches all of the intricate details and makes it so easy to pop up on my chocolate colored burlap. Behind the burlap are two of the new Custom Decorative Corner Dies, I made them in tangy orange to liven up my wood grain dp. For the leafy swag at the bottom, I started with the branch and lacey leaf from the Custom Fancy Foliage Die set, and the small leaves are from the Spellbinder Little Leaf Set, it's all topped off with three different twine bows and a large chocolate button. Oh, yah, pumpkin pie is another reason to love fall!!
Our Daily Bread Designs Supplies: Pumpkin stamp, Custom Fancy Foliage Dies, Custom Decorative Corners Dies, Pumpkin Die.
Other Supplies: Chocolate Burlap, embossing folder, Spellbinder Little Leaf die, twine, button, foam tape, reinkers, waterpen, heat embossing. Check out my talented designer friends for more inspiration.

It's that time a year when I like to get a few Christmas cards in the works, it gets so hectic at the last minute. I heat embossed this gorgeous MFP cardinal and watercolored him with reinkers then added a pinecone bouquet with various Spellbinder dies. The side and top dies were cut from a square and corner dies added to the top corners.

I had a great time making this guy card, I think it's because I love this wonderful cedar tree image from Mark's Finest Papers. I inked up the image with navy for the bg and in black for the forground then added brass brads to the corners and a Spellbinders label tied with twine across the center.
