For the challenge I created a vellum candleholder. To reach around the glass bowl, I stamped the poinsettias on the diagonal of the vellum, heat embossed, colored with Stampin Up reinkers, and cut out the strip and attached it to the glass at candle level. I really want to make a bunch of these for my Christmas dinner table!!

I love making fast and easy scrapbooks, usually choosing a solid and print dp for the entire book and accenting the pages with pretty images like these dogwood blossoms. This was a very special family trip to London and Paris, I kept it simple with black and white dp with heat embossed flowers which I colored with Stampin Up reinkers.

I wanted a lot of texture and depth to my creation this week so I heat embossed three Mark's Finest Papers Sunflowers and popped each layer up with foam tape, coloring with Stampin Up reinkers.

All of the papers are distressed and I used embossing folders on a couple of them. The lace border die and gingham ribbon were added for a feminine touch.

I'm getting a head start on my Christmas cards so I mounted this sweet MFP cardinal on an embossed tag after coloring with Copic markers. The Spellbinders pinecones and branch were inked to bring out the details and I added a bow of twine.

I thought this vintage paper went perfectly with these fabulous MFP pansies, which are heat embossed and colored with Tombow markers and a water pen. Foam tape was added to each layer and they really pop!!

I was looking through TracyMac's gallery on Splitcoast Stampers last week and found a fabulous card that she made a couple week's ago, when I found out we have a CAS challenge this week I was excited to give this one a try. I heat embossed this sweet MFP mermaid and seahorse and colored with Stampin Up reinkers and water pen. I embossed wave-like swirls on the background panels and added sheer swirl green ribbon across. For the seahorse tag, a large green button with a shell charm tied with twine was added. At the last minute I realized I had to add my new swirl die by La-La Land dies.

Now, I don't normally make back to school cards, but I do make cards for the teachers throughout the year, for Teacher Appreciation Day and other special occasions, so I put this fall inspired card together.

I colored this gorgeous MFP sunflower with copics and popped it up with foam tape. All of the papers are embossed with embossing folders and I added Spellbinder dies and a Martha Stewart border punch for thrills.

Joy Fold Card

There's a great tutorial at SplitcoastStampers.com under resources, I had to check it out myself, as I'd never tryed this fold for a card.

I did a sloppy job with the heat embossing on these dogwood blossoms, black powder everywhere!! So I colored them with Stampin Up reinkers and water pen and cut them out, voila, all my problems solved! I colored them with a peachy color to go with these Graphic 45 butterflies and used embossing folders on all of the dp.

I heat embossed the image to give it extra shine and I have to say, I'm so thrilled with my new Stampin Up reinkers, I just put a tiny dot of ink on a palette and used a water pen to color this gorgeous tropical scene!! I was so excited with the vibrant color that I brought out all of my favorite images to emboss and color!

Color Challenge

The colors for the color challenge this week at Splitcoast Stampers are Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip, and Always Artichoke, with the dessert option to pop up all or part of the image. Now, I know I have Tangerine Tango cardstock, I just saw it the other day, but I had to pull out every piece of cardstock I own to find it. The good news is my paper shelves look tidier than they have in months, the bad news is I never found the Tangerine Tango!! So here you see Pumpkin Pie, my Authentique dp does come very close to TT and I heat embossed the Sweet n Sassy roses and mixed Pumpkin Pie and Poppy Parade ink to water color them.

Friends of Speedy TV Challenge - New Technique

The Friends of Speedy TV challenge at Mark's Finest Papers this week is to use a new technique, join us here for a chance to win a stamp set: http://www.mfpspeedytv.ning.com/. I learned this technique last week at the Puyallup, WA Stamp Convention, it's to color embossing folder embossed paper with sponge daubers and pigment ink. I chose to add a pansy from Mark's Finest Papers from the 'Today Tomorrow, and Always' stamp set and colored it with Copic markers. I added foam tape under the pansy and doily for extra dimension.

Poppies

I attended a stamp convention this last weekend and thought I'd try a couple of the techniques that I learned. I colored the poppy image with Marvy pens and then used a watercolor brush to spread the color through the leaves, then added orange Tombow marker to the flower centers and spread the color on the petals. The second technique was to color an embossed background with sponge daubers and pigment ink.
