The Friends of Speedy TV challenge this week is to make a monochromatic card, join us here for a chance to win a stamp set: http://www.mfpspeedytv.ning.com/.
As I was thinking of options for my monochromatic card, I pulled out my pansies and my Mark's Finest Papers 'Be Wild & Free' set. Of course, pansies being purple, I immediately began pulling out all the purple stops: heat embossing and watercoloring the pansies with reinkers (glitter glue for the centers) then cutting them out and popping them up with foam tape. After finishing my purple creation, I noticed a pretty brown bow that came on a gift I'd received recently and I had beautiful pieces of text designer paper on my desk from a previous project. As I pulled together elements in kraft and chocolate, I realized I had to do a second monochromatic project and put the 'Be Wild and Free' set to good use. This zebra image is awesome, no masking was needed, I just kept stamping until I had a herd!!

I added the chocolate bow with a twine bow and rustic brown button on top, over a stamped zebra print border that's from the same set.

You got into the swing of monochrome just like me. Love both those cards and good to see you are recycling too!
ReplyDeleteBoth of these look wonderful. I love the repetition with the zebras! And purple is my fave color, so the pansies look divine!
