Friends of Speedy TV challenge #91 - Animal Card

It's Animal week here at the Friends of Speedy TV challenge, kind of like shark week but without the blood and a lot cuter!! Join us here for a chance to win a stamp set.

I've been wanting to make a western card and this beautiful MFP wild horse scene from the Wild Horses Stamp set is a favorite, I heat embossed and watercolored the image with distress markers and a water pen. I had rescued this large piece of corregated cardboard from the wrapping off a package my husband had received, it worked perfectly with the rustic feel that I wanted. A button was added to the twine bow with a couple Spellbinder leaf dies and a happy birthday sentiment (also from the Wild Horses set) on a tag die and three small chocoate buttons along the top of the card.

Mark's Finest Paper stamps used: Wild Horses Stamp set

Other Supplies: Corregated cardboard, twine, Spellbinder leaf die, tag die, Tim Holtz distress markers, scalloped border punch, embossing folder, water pen, brown buttons.

Have a great week!

  1. Stunning card! I love horses and you have captured this scene so delicately! The focus remains on the horse...superb! I love the way you have layered and textured everything and the simple embellishments too. It really lifts the card into a new dimension! Thanks for the inspiration!
