Purple Flower

The Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge is the My Sweet Petunia blog.  I chose this card for my inspiration.

The inspiration had two things that made it a must to case: purple and a pretty grey background.  The card I cased had a purple rose, but I was interested in making a larger pointy petal flower so I used the HFC Tattered Blossoms,  stamping 4 of the largest flower and 1 of the second largest in purple.  The center was made with sour apple cardstock and the larger stamen die in the HFC Flowering Dogwood die set.  The background was made by stenciling the flourish stencil and crackle texture paste, the paper was sprayed with grey ink before hand and a little ink added to the paste.  For the border piece, I die cut 3 HFC Border & Pocket  dies and glued them together, then covered them with silver die and this shimmery platinum embossing powder.  The other purple cardstock pieces were dry embossed with embossing folders.

Gild the Lily

The Splitcoaststampers Free for All challenge is to use odd sayings to create your card.  I used the expression 'Gild the Lily'.

For the background I stamped the HFC Word Background stamp, sponged it and tore the right side so that it could reveal a piece of HFC designer paper.

For my embossed ornate border die, I cut 3 and glued them together to make chipboard then rubbed with my Versamark pad, covered with gold embossing powder, then heated, two layers of embossing powder gave it a smooth gilded look.

For the lilies, I embossed them in gold and sponged in bright green and yellow, the smaller flowers in darker green.  The stamens of the larger lilies had their tips embossed in gold.  The flowers were finished off with chunky glitter.  Gold Nuvo drops were added around the border die.

Baby Blues

I did a second card today for the Way to Use It challenge featuring tape.  

I used masking tape again to create a wood plank effect.  I rubbed the masking tape covered cardstock with cement grey ink and covered with clear embossing powder.  

Several Heartfelt Creations Classic Roses were added with lots of  chunky glitter to the Rose vine and a flourishy piece (also HFC) in the back that I covered in 3d laquer.

Cowboy

The Splitcoaststampers Ways to Use it Challenge this week is to use tape in your project.

I created a background by applying masking tape to card stock, inking it in Tim Holtz dark stain and then clear embossing.  The other card stock pieces were dry embossed and the Viva Las Vegas cowboy image was heat embossed and water colored with markers.  The verse is from Our Daily Bread Designs.

Elegant Rose

Here's my card for the Splitcoaststampers sketch.

The far background was dry embossed with an embossing folder, the damask water color panel was sprayed with water based ink and texture added with a damask stencil and crackle texture paste mixed with a bit of the same gray ink as the background.  The rose was made with the Heartfelt Creations Classic Rose Stamp and die set and glittered and I used re-inkers to dye my seam binding ribbon to match.

Dogwood Wreath

This is my second card today for the Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge.

The paper from the Heartfelt Creations Flowering Dogwood collection did most of the work for this card.  I stamped and sponged the Dogwood flowers in SU Sugar plum with pear colored stamens.  A buckle from the HF Sentiments set and a dove tail flourish from the Dogwood & Dove set.

Sugar Plum Lilies

This is my card for the Splitcoaststampers color challenge, this week's colors are;

For the challenge I sponged the Heartfelt Creations Lilies with SU Sugar Plum and Mint Macaron and added pearl prills to the stamens.  The verse is by Verve and was stamped on a fishtail flag die by MFT.  The label and doily are both Spellbinders and there's a little strip of paper from the HFC Flowering Dogwood Paper Collection.  Both the label die and bg were dry embossed with embossing folders.
