I'm checking in today with a card for the Splitcoaststampers sketch.

Normally I make square cards, but today I used a rectangle piece of designer paper from the Heartfelt Creations Classic Petunia Paper Collection, so I went with a rectangle card. My base designer paper was dry embossed and all the layers distressed.  

The 3d petunias were made with the HFC Classic Petunia stamps and dies, sponged, glittered and gala glitz added to the centers.  A few Nuvo Crystal Drops were added to the left corner to fill up the space.

The large petunia image was heat embossed in black and water colored with Stampin Up markers with lots of Rajni Chawla's Crystal Clear glitter added on top.  It's matted on an oval of HFC dp that was dry embossed and also a Spellbinder die in distressed white.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set and is on a MFT die-namics pierced banner die.

Butterfly Garden

The Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge colors are:
ALWAYS ARTICHOKE
PEEKABOO PEACH
CALYPSO CORAL
with a bug for dessert.

I played around with several cardstock colors to dry emboss my bird ef, but liked the sponged white paper best so it wouldn't drown out my flowers.  I used a ready made frame from the Heartfelt Creations Blazing Poppy Paper pad raised with foam tape on top, after cutting out the center with a MFT stitched rounded corner square die-namics.  

The flowers are from the HFC Classic Petunia Collection and were sponged in the color challenge colors and matching prills were added to the centers.  Crystal Clear Glitter was added to the flowers and butterfly.  The tag is also a MFT die and I'm using a Verve sentiment from the Simply Amazing stamp set again today.  Nuvo Crystal Drops were added around the flowers.

The butterfly is from the HFC Botanical Wings set and was heat embossed and colored with Stampin Up markers then glittered.

You Are Amazing

This week's Splitcoaststampers Technique Challenge is Washi Watercolor.

The background was made from paper from the HFC Classic Petunia Collection and dry embossed.  For my Washi Tape Watercolor I used the center die of the Heartfelt Creations Botanic Window in mixed media paper and placed the washi tape where I wanted my sentiment to be, then I sprayed with lavender and purple spray inks.  After removing the tape, I stamped the sentiment from the Verve Simply Amazing stamp set in the clear spaces left by the washi tape.

The Botanic Window and HFC Raindrops on Roses dies were painted with 3d stamp paint and covered in Rajni Chawla's Crystal Clear.

The petunias are made from the HFC Classic Petunia cling stamp set and were also glittered with Crystal Clear and the centers are filled with Mauvie Gala Glitz.  For details on sculpting the petunias, check out the HFC blog.

Nuvo Crystal Drops were added around the flowers.

Petunia Garden

The Splitcoaststampers Free 4 All Challenge is - What's in Your Garden?

The day before Mother's Day every year, my family and I go to the farmer's market where I buy lots of plants, including hanging baskets of petunias.  For my petunia card, I used the new Heartfelt Creations Classic Petunia Collection.  The background was cut from HFC designer paper and dry embossed, the circle frame was also cut from HFC paper with My Favorite Things Die-namics and I placed a Spellbinders lattice die behind.  After sponging, cutting, and shaping the flowers, I added  Rajni Chawla's Crystal Clear glitter to the flowers and Mauvie Gala Glitz to the centers.  I cut out the sentiment from the HFC Petunia Paper Collection and added Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Oceans of Love

The Splitcoaststampers Ways to Use It Challenge is - favorite pet, or pet you wish you'd had as a kid and I used this week's MFT Sketch.

Although I didn't have fish as a kid, I made my dream come true as an adult and had two large coral reefs, both had Clown Fish in them.  It's hard to find a fish sitter when we'd go on vacation, so when I moved a couple of years ago, I decided to sell the tanks.  I do still miss them and think that fish make great pets.  For my card, I used the new My Favorite Things BB Mermazing stamp set and die-namics.  The background was made with the Die-namics Dainty Scallops Cover-Up and the smaller strip was stamped with shells from the stamp set.  All of the dies are MFT Die-namics and I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops- Aquatic Mist to make little bubbles around the fish.

Vintage Lilies

This is my card for the Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge.

I chose to turn the sketch sideways and put the flowers closer together for a better flow.  I added the butterflies to also emulate the sketch.  The butterflies were stamped and cut with the Heartfelt Creations Butterfly Medley Collection and the lilies were made with the HFC Sunrise Lily Stamp and Die sets. I stamped and sponged two sets of lilies in dark green and two sets in Momento Rhubarb ink, added prills to the centers and glittered with Rajni Chawla's Crystal Clear and Frosting Powder.  A few Nuvo Crystal Drops were added around the flowers.

The sentiment if from the Verve Faith Medley Stamp Set, and all of the dies used are My Favorite Things Die-namics.

Glitter Glue was added to the butterflies for sparkle.

Close up of the Crystal Clear and Frosting Powder, the Frosting Powder gives a little more white detail.

The Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge is to use two or more of the following colors:

This card was made with the Heartfelt Creations Classic Rose paper, stamps, and dies.  I embossed the background paper and distressed.  The roses were sponged and glittered.  The pretty sentiment is by Verve from the Brighter Days stamp Set, it's stamped on a My Favorite Things Double Stitched Die-namics. Finally, I added 3 Nuvo crystal drops.

Yellow prills were added to the yellow roses and all were glittered with Rajni Chawla's Crystal Clear Glitter.
