I had such a great time with this flower last week that I had to give it another try. I combined artichoke and cantaloupe for my colors, inking my embossing folder with cantaloupe for my textured background.  The rose was heat embossed and water colored with re inkers.

Wow, what a fun flower to water color! I used the new Mark's Finest Papers rose and sentiment from the Roses stamp set and used Stampin Up pens and a water pen to water color, then I cut out the rose and raised it with foam tape.  The background oval was stamped with the plaid background stamp from the Kilt Fun stamp set.

ODBDSLC209 - Red, White & Blue Part 2

The Shining the Light challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs this week is a color challenge of Red, White & Blue.  Join us here for all of the details.

For my second card in the ODBD two week Red, White, & Blue challenge I decided to go with this wonderful ODBD cardinal, which is heat embossed and water colored with re-inkers, I couldn't believe how well it went with the beautiful background paper from the ODBD Christian Faith Collection.  A navy Spellbinder frame was added behind the cardinal and I took this opportunity to use my new Spellbinder feather dies (One cut in red, sponged in red, and one cut in cream and sponged in red) tied with a seam binding bow, twine bow, and button.

ODBD Stamps Used: Sing for Joy
ODBD Paper Used: Christian Faith Collection

I love the beautiful Marsh Silhouettes stamp set by MFP, it has a wonderful Sympathy sentiment and I used the fern stamp to make one of the background pieces which I cut out with Spellbinder dies.  The backgrounds were embossed with embossing folders that had been inked to give more depth and color, and I finished it off with a button covered seam binding bow and three enamel dots.
