The Friends of Speedy TV challenge this week is to make a New Years card with chalk and paper piercing, join us here for a chance to win a stamp set and for all of the details on the latest challenge.

I kept my New Years card simple with embossing that I added chalk details to with a darker shade of green, a simple Cheery Lynn flourish and rick rack made of felt. I love the font of this MFP greeting and accented it with paper piercing.

Here's a close up of the paper piercing

Happy Tuesday everyone!! The Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge is Anything Goes, please join us here for all of the details.

In this hectic season of running around trying to get everything done, it's wonderful to just stop and smell the chocolate covered cherries, and get inspiration for my Anything Goes card. I've made so many red, green, and blue Christmas cards, and have wanted to try something different, so I watercolored this lovely church and combined with with chocolate dp and touches of cherry cardstock.

For my wedding card I chose a soft pink and dove grey for my colors, they go beautifully with the Lily of the Valley set, which includes a wedding sentiment. I heat embossed and watercolored the Lily of the Valley with reinkers and mounted them with foam tape on Spellbinder dies, along with the sentiment. The wonderful rosettes were purchased by the spool at my local fabric store.

ODBDSLC #182 - Alternate Fold

Happy Tuesday everyone!! The Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge is to create a card with an alterante fold or 3D(other than traditional top or side fold), please join us here for all of the details.

I might have cheated a bit here, I went for more of an alternate shape than an alternate fold, but I saw this wonderful stable card on Splitcoast Stampers and I was dying to combine it with my favorite Baby Jesus stamp by ODBD. I used a white pigment ink pad instead of white paint and added a swag at the top and bottom.

ODBDSLC #181 - Double Embossing

Happy Tuesday everyone!! The Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge is to create a card with double embossing, please join us here for all of the details.

The double embossing technique I used is very simple, I just embossed the kraft cardstock with an embossing folder and then ran a gold pigment pad over it and heat embossed in gold. I layered the beautiful stamps from the ODBD Ornate Borders and Flowers set on a Cheery Lynn doily die and topped off with a sentiment from the Ornate Frame Sentiments and a seam binding bow.
