Floral Frame

Happy Wednesday my friends!
It's that wonderful time of the week for inspiration on the Heartfelt Creations Blog, where the design team has put together a ton of beautiful projects for you to look at.

Having a new grandson has put me in the mood to display my photos, and what better way than with a floral frame?  I purchased this frame unfinished for a dollar at my local craft store, then painted it with the Porcelain chalk paint and finished it with a coat of clear wax mixed with a small bit of Antique wax.

You can see the antique color a little better in this shot from the top.
The corner pieces were created with the square die from the Butterfly Kisses Die and adhered to the frame.

The green/yellow, blue, and lavender flowers were made with the Small Sweet Peony cling stamps and dies, check out the sculpting video for the peony.  Rose leaves were created with the Leafy Accents Cling Stamp set and dies, using the 3D Leafy Accents Shaping Mold to sculpt.
The lavender wildflowers were created with the Backyard Blossoms stamps and dies and the curved leaves are from the Wildwood Florals set.  All of the flowers and leaves were sponged with ink to color.  All of the flowers were finished with Crystal Clear glitter.

Silent Night Ornament Card

Hi Friends!
It's Wednesday again and time for the some inspiration on the Heartfelt Creation Blog!

For my card this week, I'm sticking with the Christmas in July theme.  Using the O Holy Night Paper Collection, I created a background for my 5.5x7.5 inch card, as well as a center piece for the frame created with the Intricate Swirl Frame Die.  The scroll and pinecones are from the Silent Night Scroll stamp and die sets and the ornament is from the Noel Ornament Die and was cut out in gold foil paper and black cardstock to create a shadow and give the ornament more definition.

Poinsettias from the Poinsettia and Holly and the Sparkling Poinsettia Stamp and Die sets were sponged with ink, prills added to the smaller flowers and covered in lots of frosting powder.

Let The Heavens Rejoice

Playing along today with the Splitcoaststampers color challenge. The colors are:

berry burst
granny apple green
smoky slate

It's time to get a few Christmas cards made so I don't have a crunch in November, and today's colors are perfect!  I watercolored this retired Flourishes image from the Poinsettia & Pine stamp set with Stampin Up markers Berry Burst and Granny Apple Green, adding a little Old Olive to the pines.  The poinsettia was cut out with a MFT stitched circle die and the lacy black frame was made with the Heartfelt Creations Butterfly Kisses Decorative Die.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set and was cut out with a MFT stitched oval die and framed with a Spellbinders die.
The background of Smoky Slate was dry embossed and lightly sponged with ink, as well as the strip of Berry Burst.

Blessings,
DJ

Forest Birthday

The SCS Ways to Use It Challenge is 'Happy Camper', which is to incorporate camping or something you might see while camping.

I used an older Stampin Up set, Noble Deer, stamped in Rich Cocoa (memento ink) on a creamy cardstock. My favorite colors lately have been Wild Wasabi with Tranquil Tide.  I stamped the background trees in Mossy Meadow on the Wasabi strip and inked an embossing folder with Tranquil Tide ink and embossed it on the same color cardstock.
The sentiment from the Our Daily Bread Ride Em Cowboy set was cut out with the ODBD Pennant Flags and Double Stitched Pennant Flags dies and the pinecones were cut out of Kraft with the ODBD Pinecones dies and sponged with Rich Cocoa.  The branches are also by ODBD and were cut out of Wasabi and sponged with Mossy Meadow.

Blessings,
DJ

Watercolor Christmas

I'm using the SCS sketch today, to create a Christmas Card for my stash.

For the watercolor forest, I sponged the background with distress inks and then stamped the trees from the Heartfelt Creations Snow Kissed Spruce set in SU Mossy Meadow and used a water pen to create the water color effect. A brown colored pencil was used on the trunks of the trees.  The snow flakes are from the same set and were stamped in SU Tranquil Tide, glue was strategically added and Crystal Clear Glitter was added for sparkle.
The background kraft was embossed with a woodgrain embossing foldere and sponged with kraft ink.

The sentiment is from the new HFC Silent Night Scroll set, stamped in black on Tranquil Tide and mounted on a HFC Cut Mat Created 1B die and the bottom die is by Spellbinders, also cut out in TT.

Blessings,
DJ

Nativity Shadow Box Card

Hi Friends!
It's time for Wednesday inspiration day at the Heartfelt Creations Blog! Grab a cup of your favorite beverage and come join us for lots of beautiful ideas!

Today I'm using the O Holy Night Collection, just released last week at Heartfelt Creations.  The card is created on a 5.5x6.5 inch card base and decorated with paper from the O Holy Night Paper Collection. The border was cut with the Delicate and Classic Border Basics dies, the tag and sentiment are also from the O Holy Night Paper Collection.

I created the small shadow box with the Card Shadow Box Set - Kraft, lining it with nativity paper from the paper pad, the frame around the outside of the box is also from the same pad.
The sweet nativity from the O Holy Night set was heat embossed in black on water color paper and water colored with Zig markers, then cut out with the corresponding dies.
The small die from the Eyelet Frames Die was added to the end of the shadow box.

A tag and sentiment from the paper pad were distressed and added on a die from the Decorative Medallion Die and two pine cones from the Silent Night Scroll set were stamped in Rich Cocoa and colored with markers.

The poinsettias were created with the Poinsettia & Holly Cluster stamps, stamped in red ink, sponged, cut out with corresponding dies, and sculpted with the 3D Poinsettia Shaping Mold.  Yellow prills were added to the flower centers.

One of the borders from the paper pad was adhered around the edge of the shadow box.

Nativity Stain Glass Luminary

Hello!
It's time for the Wednesday Inspiration at the Heartfelt Creations Blog and a new release celebrating Christmas in July!  Be sure and stop by the HFC blog to check out all of the new goodies!

For my project this week, I made a luminary, a candle holder to show off the sweet images from the new O Holy Night Collection.  For directions on making the luminary, I found this tutorial on the Splitcoaststampers site.  I changed the tutorial a tad to add rectangle panels made with the two smallest Eyelet Rectangle & Basics dies to create a frame for each of the three sides.  Three vellum panels slightly larger than the rectangle openings were cut out and the nativity, shepherds, and Bethlehem images were heat embossed in black, colored with markers and blended with a Tombow blending marker.  The completed vellum panels were glued inside the luminary.

The angel was heat embossed on water color paper and colored with the markers.

Poinsettias from the Large Sparkling Poinsettia and Sparkling Poinsettia sets were stamped in MFT Wild Cherry.  Tiny poinsettias from the Poinsettia & Holly Clusters also were stamped in Wild Cherry, all were cut out with corresponding dies.  The stamens were sponged with Buttercup and yellow prills were added to the centers of the tiny poinsettias.

A large poinsettia was added to the top of the box with holly stamped in black and colored with markers and a dove blender.

Two pine cones from the Silent Night Scroll set were stamped in Rich Cocoa and colored with markers and a tiny poinsettia added on top.

Add a battery operated tealight.

You Are Bee-utiful

Happy 4th of July!  Independence day here in the US, a day for picnics, fireworks, warm weather and a day to appreciate our freedom!  It's also a very special day because it's inspiration day at the Heartfelt Creations Blog, if you get a chance, come over and visit.

For my card this week, I used the Sweet as Honey Paper collection.  The finished card is 5 x 7 and I used the new Intricate Swirl Frames Die to frame my floral queen bee scene.

The bee hive from the Sweet as Honey set was stamped, sponged with ink and cut out with corresponding dies.  The sweet bee maiden from the Honey Bee Maiden Cling stamp set was stamped on water color paper and colored with Zig markers.
The flowers were created using the Botanical Rose Cling Stamp set and corresponding dies, sponged with Bamboo Leaves and Buttercup ink and sculpted with the 3D Floral Basics Sculpting Mold.  For more tips on creating with the flower shaping molds, watch the tutorial at https://youtu.be/FSdPL7nXvQE.  The stamens were made with the Sunrise Lily Die, each arm of the stamen was cut in half lenghtwise, glue was added to the tips and they were dipped in Ribbit prills.

The sentiment is from the same paper pad and is framed in bees from the Sweet as Honey stamp and die sets.
