Nativity Inspiration

The SCS Ways to Use It Challenge is to find inspiration from our home.

When I travel I collect a nativity from each city, this one is from Rome, Italy

For the card, I heat embossed this sweet nativity, Whimsy Stamps Nativity Critters, and water colored with Zig Clean Brush Markers, the sentiment is by Taylored Expressions and all of the dies are by My Favorite Things.  The background was dry embossed and brushed with Aquamarine Nuvo Embellishment Mousse.

Sunflower Wishes

The Splitcoaststampers Technique Challenge is to make embossed ribbon.

For the challenge, I used various Heartfelt Creations papers in shades of green, the tag was cut out with the HFC tag die and stamped with a script background stamp and the Classic Rose leaf, which was also used for the sunflower leaves.  The sunflowers were made with the HFC Classic Sunflower stamps and dies and a small tag sentiment from one of the paper collections was also added.  I believe that the background lattice is by Spellbinders.

Glue was daubed on the flowers with a sponge and glitter added, as well as glitter glue added to the leaves.

Here's a closeup of the embossed ribbon.

Christmas House

The Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge is to use the Houzz site for inspiration, I chose these trees for my second card.

I started with a piece of distressed Heartfelt Creations designer paper and added a house that was inked and embossed with a brick embossing folder.  I added images from the HFC Winter's Eve stamp and die collection, the trees are from the Snow Kissed Spruce stamp and die sets and the bunnies are from the Woodsy Critters stamp and die sets.

The trees were sponged with Momento Bambo and the other images were colored with Zig Clean Color markers.  3-d Crystal Lacquer was added to the sled for shine and the snow was created with DecoArt Snow Writer and glitter.

Glitter glue was also added to the tree and berries.

Thinking of You

The Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge is to use the Houzz site for inspiration, I chose this picture.  I also used the SCS Ways to Use it challenge - Faux Patina

The flowers were created with the Heartfelt Creations Sunrise Lily stamps and dies, lots of Papericous Crystal Clear glitter was added.  The lace is by Cheery Lynn.

For the Faux Patina background, I inked the embossing folder with MFT Biscotti ink and sponged on MFT Sour Apple and then SU Sweet Sugar Plum, then heat embossed with gold.

Winter Friends

The Splitcoaststampers Free for All Challenge this week is to use light in your project.

I chose to use the street lamp from the Heartfelt Creations Festive Holly and Cardinals Cling Stamp Set for the light challenge, the cardinal with holly are also from this set.  I started by distressing the snowy sky designer paper from the HFC Snow Kissed Paper Collection, added one Momento Banboo ink sponged tree from the Snow Kissed Spruce Cling stamp set.  The bunny and deer are from the HFC Woodsy Critters Cling Stamp Set , they, as well as the snowman, were colored with Zig Clean Brush markers.  The lantern and cardinal were colored with Tombow and SU markers and a Tombow  blender pen, I stamped two of the lantern image and cut out the candle section, then layered the pieces with foam tape for lots of dimension.  Because the lantern pole is short, I cut out two to extend the lantern toward the ground.  The sweet snowman is from the HFC Frolicking Frosty Cling Stamp set.

The sentiment is from the HFC Winter's Eve Cling Stamp Set and was stamped on a MFT tag die.

The gate was stamped in dark grey with the HFC Festive Gate Cling Stamp and sponged with the same grey ink.  All of the images were cut out with their corresponding dies.

After the card was complete, I added snow with the DecoArt Snow Writer and topped it with Papericious Frosting Powder  and glitter glue to add more accents.

Christmas Wonderland

The Splitcoaststampers Ways to Use It Challenge this week is to use a Faux Technique, I chose the faux linen technique found here.

To create my faux linen, I used the Heartfelt Creations

Large Elegant Word Background Cling Stamp Set stamped in MFT Olive and the holly from the HFC Festive Holly and Cardinals Cling Stamp Set stamped in MFT Latte, then sponged with the Latte ink.  The designer papers are also by HFC.

For the window scene I used the deer and small evergreen trees from the HFC

Woodsy Critters Cling Stamp Set and a tree from the HFC Snow Kissed Spruce Cling Stamp Set, the trees were sponged with Momento Bamboo and the deer, holly, mistletoe, and Christmas tree were water colored with Zig Clean Brush Markers.  The window, mistletoe and holly are from the HFC  Winter's Eve Collection.  The poinsettia, from the HFC Sparkling Poinsettia Cling Stamp Set was sponged with SU Watermelon Wonder.

Papericious Crystal Clear Glitter was added to the window and poinsettia and glitter glue was added to the holly and Christmas tree.

Christmas Window

This week's Splitcoaststamper Sketch Challenge can be found here.

The designer paper, girl with tree image, candle, window, and lace pieces are from the Heartfelt Creations Winter's Eve Collection.  The cardinal is from the HFC

Festive Holly & Cardinals Cling Stamp Set, the trees from the HFC Snow Kissed Spruce Cling Stamp Set, and the bunny is from the HFC Woodsy Critters Cling Stamp Set.  The background paper was distressed and sponged.  I used a bunch of coloring techniques here, trying to find my favorite. The trees were sponged in Momento Bamboo, the cardinal and candle were colored with ink pads and a dove blender pen, and the girl with tree was colored with Zig Clean Brush markers and a water pen.

I've been trying different snow products, this is DecoArt  Snow Writer with Wow White Glitter on top.  I like the way it turned out but the writer glogs a lot and so it takes a bit of time to use.

I also used some glitter glue on the bird, tree, and berries.

DJ

Tropical Birthday

The Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge site is a tropical theme with a pinterest board found here.

You can find my inspiration photo here.  For this card I used the Heartfelt Creations Monkeying Around Collection, as well as the Tropical Paradise Collection for the plumeria flowers.  I cut a circle in the center of paper from the Monkeying Around paper and inserted palm trees that had been sponged with ink.  I added palms, coconuts, plumeria strand, and sentiment from the same collection and a larger flower that was made with the HFC Tropical Plumeria stamp and die set (yellow prills added to the center).
