Peony Shadow Box Garden

Hello to all my friends,
I'm so excited to announce that I've been selected for the Heartfelt Creations Design Team for a year! I'll be making projects for them on the Heartfelt Creations Blog, and of course, displaying them here on my blog.

I thought it would be fun to create a project for a friend who was going through hard times, spending time in the hospital or nursing home, something that they could set on their bedside table and bring them joy.

I created a garden in a shadow box, full of blooming flowers, birds, and also a very inspirational verse,
to bring a little cheer and hope.

Directions:
Create cardbase 9 1/4 x 7 inches with black cardstock
Cover with paper from Sweet Peony Paper Collection that has been distressed, add lace piece from paper collection along the bottom.
Cut out larger Sweetheart Borders Die in white cardstock and glue to upper left side.
Create shadow box using the shadow box in the 6x6 Foldout Cards - Black.
Cut out the paper for the back panel of the shadow box from  the large garden paper with birdhouse in the Sweet Peony Paper Collection.
Stamp scripture verse from Words of Comfort Cling Stamp Set on the blue sky portion of remaining paper and cut out with Eyelet Oval Dies, cut out black circle and White Eyelet Oval (Small), add foam tape in between layers for dimension, glue to the back of the shadow box.
Stamp and cut out bird from Wildwood Bird Haven Stamp and Die set, sponge with inks and accent with smallest flowers from the Small Sweet Peony set with Fuzzy Naval Prill centers, glue beside the verse.
Stamp and cut out greenery and flower from the Rainboots & Blossoms, as well as the greenery from the Wildwood Florals sets and glue to the bottom of the shadow box, add the birdbath from the Wildwood Cottage Accents.
Create more dimension with various shaping of the Small Sweet Peony and Small Camelia Carnation on wire stem stamens and place in the front of the shadow box.
For the outside of the box, cut out a 6x6 square frame from the paper collection and cut out the center square and glue outer frame to the front of the box.  Cut strips from the matching pattern 6x6 piece to decorate the sides.
Create peonies using the Large and Small Sweet Peony sets, sponging with Memento Dye Ink Pad -  Rose Bud, cut out stamens from the Sunrise Lily Die cut in yellow cardstock.  Sponge all of the flowers with Dries Clear Adhesive and cover with Rajni Chawla's Crystal Clear Glitter.  The peonies will be glued on stems from the Peony Bud & Blossom set in Memento Ink - Bamboo Leaves.
Stamp and cut out scroll from the Sweet Lilac Scroll & Notes stamp and die sets and sponge with inks, add Small Sweet Peony flowers with prill centers for dimension.  Glue the scroll to the left bottom corner on the front of your shadow box.  Glue lace border from the Sweetheart Die to the bottom of the shadow box and glue shadow box to the upper right side of card.
Add distressed tag and ticket from the paper collection to the left side of the shadow box and two peonies with stems, add sheer bow to complete.

Toad-ally Awesome

I'm bringing you a card today for the MFT Sketch 380 and the SCS Ways to Use It - crimped challenges.

The background was cut out with a My Favorite Things stitched square Die-namics (all of the dies used are MFT Die-namics) and stamped with a MFT wood grain background stamp.  The sweet frog from the new MFT Toad-ally Awesome stamp set was colored with copic markers and cut out with matching dies.  The green dots are from the MFT Birthday Boy Assortment of Sprinkles.

The sentiment is from a couple different MFT sentiment stamps that I put together to get a witty birthday greeting.

Butterfly With Peonies

I'm playing along today with the SCS Sketch.

I received my Heartfelt Creations Butterfly Dreams Collection today, and you can see that I've used a paper panel here, I cut the center out and placed the square die from the HFC Butterfly Kisses Decorative Die in black behind.

I've added some peonies made with HFC Large Sweet Peonies Stamps and Dies.  The stamens were made with the Sunrise Lily Die, dipped in glue and yellow prills.

Stickles glitter glue was added to the cage and butterfly, and accent dots of Nuvo Crystal Drops were added for dimension.

Tropical Hibiscus

The SCS Color Challenge colors this week are:

flirty flamingo
island indigo
pool party

Although our spring weather is mild here, I could still use a little tropical paradise and the color challenge colors are perfect!  I used the Heartfelt Creations Under the Sea Collection for all of the designer paper and sentiment tag, the flowers, shells, and seahorse are also from this collection.

The HFC Classic Border Basics and HFC Delicate Border Basics dies to create the lacy edge.

All of the images were sponged with the color challenge colors and then sponged with glue and Rajni Chawla's Crystal Clear Glitter was added.
