Nautical Father's Day

I've created a card today for the Splitcoaststamper Sketch, which can be found here.

Normally, I make 3D cards, but for the sketch I thought I'd do a card that I'll be able to mail for Father's Day.  The exciting thing about this one, is that it's almost exclusively made with one paper pad, the Heartfelt Creations Everyday Hero Paper Collection, even the sentiment was cut from the paper pad.

The background designer paper was dry embossed and all of the pieces were distressed and sponged.

The weather vain style die is from the HFC Everyday Heroes Die and was cut to make a holder for my sentiment.

Wild Wasabi
Daffodil Delight

For the color challenge, I stamped the roses in Sweet Sugarplum with yellow centers from the Heartfelt Creations Botanical Rose stamp and dies.  The small flowers were made with the HFC Wildwood Florals.

The background was dry embossed with an inked embossing folder, the lattice frame was created with a Spellbinders lattice die and a frame made with the HFC paper pad Raindrops on Roses, the tag is also from that pad.

The lace border was made with the HFC Ornate Borders and Pockets and the butterfly is from the HFC Butterfly Medley set  The flowers and butterfly were finished off with a heavy coating of Crystal Clear glitter.

Hummer in the Vineyard

The Splitcoaststamper Ways to Use it Challenge is to use grapes, wine, or a vineyard in your project.

I used the Heartfelt Creations Italiana Riviera Paper Collection to create the background for the card.  The grapes are from the Italiana Riviera Cling Stamp and Die sets and were heat embossed and water colored with Stampin Up markers, glittered and attached with foam tape.

A few Nuvo Crystal Drops were added for accent.

The adorable hummingbird is from the HFC Botanic Orchid Bouquet Cling Stamp and Die set and was colored in the same way as the grapes.  The sentiment is also from the same paper collection as the background.

Nesting Bird

The Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge is the Sewpaperpaint blog, you can find the beautiful project that I chose to case here.

I love the frame she made by stamping into wet glaze, I started by inking my work-surface with several inks and after spraying the ink with water, smooshing the mixed media paper in it.  I chose to use transparent glossy texture glaze and stamped it with a My Favorite Things Cheesecloth Background stamp.  The Stampendous Nesting Bird image was heat embossed and colored with Stampin Up markers and a water pen.

Here's a picture of the stamped glazed frame.

The Sizzix Bigz Butterfly was cut out and embossed on another piece of inked mixed media paper and I added black ink and glitter over.

The corner bouquet was made with the Heartfelt Creations Flowering Dogwood Collection and Leafy Branch stamp and die sets and Crystal Clear Glitter added.  For a tutorial on making the dogwood flowers, check out the HFC blog.

Nautical Father's Day

For this Father's Day card, I started with paper from the  Heartfelt Creations Everyday Heros Paper Collection, which was distressed and sponged.  The HFC Everyday Heros Die was cut out in black and rubbed with metallic blue paste to look like iron.  The belt is from the HFC Pampered Pooch set and it was stamped in black on grey cardstock, then sponged and cut out with the matching die.

The verse is from the Verve Scripture Medley 4 stamp set and is on an MFT Stitched Fishtail Flag die.  Silver Nuvo Crystal Drops were added along the flag and belt for accent.

Celebrate

I'm checking in today with a card for the Splitcoaststampers sketch.
.

Normally I make square cards, but today I used a rectangle piece of designer paper from the Heartfelt Creations Classic Petunia Paper Collection, so I went with a rectangle card. My base designer paper was dry embossed and all the layers distressed.

The 3d petunias were made with the HFC Classic Petunia stamps and dies, sponged, glittered and gala glitz added to the centers.  A few Nuvo Crystal Drops were added to the left corner to fill up the space.

The large petunia image was heat embossed in black and water colored with Stampin Up markers with lots of Rajni Chawla's Crystal Clear glitter added on top.  It's matted on an oval of HFC dp that was dry embossed and also a Spellbinder die in distressed white.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set and is on a MFT die-namics pierced banner die.

For details on flower sculpting, check out the HFC blog.

Butterfly Garden

The Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge colors are:
ALWAYS ARTICHOKE
PEEKABOO PEACH
CALYPSO CORAL

with a bug for dessert.

I played around with several cardstock colors to dry emboss my bird ef, but liked the sponged white paper best so it wouldn't drown out my flowers.  I used a ready made frame from the Heartfelt Creations Blazing Poppy Paper pad raised with foam tape on top, after cutting out the center with a MFT stitched rounded corner square die-namics.

The flowers are from the HFC Classic Petunia Collection and were sponged in the color challenge colors and matching prills were added to the centers.  Crystal Clear Glitter was added to the flowers and butterfly.  The tag is also a MFT die and I'm using a Verve sentiment from the Simply Amazing stamp set again today.  Nuvo Crystal Drops were added around the flowers.

The butterfly is from the HFC Botanical Wings set and was heat embossed and colored with Stampin Up markers then glittered.

For details on sculpting these Petunias, check out the HFC tutorial.

You Are Amazing

This week's Splitcoaststampers Technique Challenge is Washi Watercolor.

The background was made from paper from the HFC Classic Petunia Collection and dry embossed.  For my Washi Tape Watercolor I used the center die of the Heartfelt Creations Botanic Window in mixed media paper and placed the washi tape where I wanted my sentiment to be, then I sprayed with lavender and purple spray inks.  After removing the tape, I stamped the sentiment from the Verve Simply Amazing stamp set in the clear spaces left by the washi tape.

The Botanic Window and HFC Raindrops on Roses dies were painted with 3d stamp paint and covered in Rajni Chawla's Crystal Clear.

The petunias are made from the HFC Classic Petunia cling stamp set and were also glittered with Crystal Clear and the centers are filled with Mauvie Gala Glitz.  For details on sculpting the petunias, check out the HFC blog.

Nuvo Crystal Drops were added around the flowers.
