Friends of Speedy TV challenge - Card with movement
The Friends of Speedy TV challenge this week is make a card with a moving part, join us here for a chance to win a stamp set: http://www.mfpspeedytv.ning.com/.
I admit I was intimidated by this challenge, making a card that moves seemed beyond me. I had seen the penny slider technique and looked it up on the internet to find the steps.
Cut out a slot in your paper to fit your rolling object. Apply a foam dot (I cut my own from foam tape, looks bad, but it does roll!) to a penny and put in slot, attach other penny and test.
Add your image with foam tape.
Apply two layers of foam tape to the back of the slider, being careful not to interfere with the rolling pennies.
I'm so pleased with how this turned out, the Mark's Finest Papers 'Rain Clouds' stamp set was perfect for my project, although my umbrella doesn't usually blow away, it just blows inside out!!
Stamps: Mark's Finest Papers - Rain Clouds stamp set
Accessories: embossing folders, Taylored Expressions lace border die, copic markers, 2 pennies, foam tape, label punch
Blessings! DJ

DJ - this reminds me of the umbrella I saw blowing up over London Bridge and into the Thames. That is such a windy spot! Glad to see you rise to the challenge - I think we all found it such!
ReplyDeleteThis is really fun DJ! I like the idea of a tumbling umbrella. We do see that here in the PNW!
ReplyDeleteTotally AWESOME!! Great colors & texture. I've never done one of these, so thanks for adding a few tips.
